Gina K / Faber-Castell Blog Hop Day 5

Welcome to Day 5 of the Gina K. Designs/Faber-Castell Blog Hop!  We've got another incredible day of inspiration for you, so lets get started! Don't forget to keep those comments coming to enter to win a Gina K. Designs stamp set of your choice (up to a $24.95 value)

Pop over to the Faber-Castell Blog and leave a comment for a chance to win a Designing With Gelatos Kit, too!

So I looked at the package of Faber-Castell 50's Diner gelatos and I had to decide how I could tackle this latest designing hurdle:  figure out how to use these products and then make something that will not be totally embarrassing! I watched a few Youtube videos and decided that it was going to be simple!  I took a piece of Gina K. white card stock and punched out the snowflakes.  I colored with the Aqua Dolce gelato and then smeared it with my fingers. It was like a hazy misty sleet background! Not Bad. I kind of like it!  I adhered it with foam squares on top of the kraft, with small pieces of white behind the main image.  I covered the negative images with stickles and stamped "celebrate" from Lots of Lines in black ink.  A few dew drops and I was pretty happy with the result!  What do you think?

Here was the hop order (just don't want you to miss any of the "Fab"er-Castell projects (get it FAB!)

all items from Gina K. Designs unless otherwise noted

paper: kraft, white
ink: black
stamps: lots of lines
misc: Faber-Castell 50's Diner Gelatos, dew drops, stickles, punches

very pretty. You can feel the cold wind blowing. Some of the snowflakes are too big to blow so they are prominent on the card. Great job. Will have to try this one. thanks for sharing.

How fun! It turned out beautifully! I saw on YT a lady used gesso first, then let it dry, then gelatos and sprayed a touch of h2o before blending and it was creamy goodness. She did a comparison with and without gesso. I imagine we could use glossy card instead of plain w/gesso. Love your aqua color!!!

I think you ended up with a very beautiful card! Thanks for sharing!
