{Clean & Simple Monday}: Karen Dolphin - Whale you be mine?

It is the middle of summer and here I am making a Valentine card.  This one was super fun to make because I love blue (and this adorable whale is so fun to work with).

I used some blue raspberry for the base and sponged a piece of white for the waves (with some daubers and navy/powder blue and blue lagoon). The waves were punched out with a circle punch. The whale was fussy cut and colored with spectrum noir markers. The hearts were colored with a white pen.

{Clean & Simple Monday} Karen Dolphin: You are dolphinitely amazing

Today I am bringing back Clean & Simple Monday!

Last week my latest set, Karen Dolphin, was released.  Today I am showing this cute clean and simple card.  This is a super easy set to work with.

The dolphin was stamped and fussy cut, adhered with clear glue to the card. The waves were punched with various circle punches.

CAS Monday: Watercolored Wish Big

Welcome to another CAS Monday!

I have decided that I really want to perfect that watercolor splotch look for my background.  Today's card used a pre-folded watercolor base. I taped off the edges and gave the paper a good soaking! I think that is the key to really creating a nice watercolored look.  I experimented with turquoise, blue and purples to achieve this look. One think you really need to do is walk away from the card. It's not a quick process.  first add a color, swirl it in the water, let the water puddle up and then add more color.  Walk away and let it dry.  Add a second color and repeat the same process.  For a deeper color, do not add as much water.  Push the colors around with your brush. Don't be afraid to let them bleed together.

The image and sentiment are from Keep Calm which has so many mix and match sentiments. I love the wish big sentiment with the cupcake from the set!  I wanted it to look simple, but with a hint of bling, so I added some stickler to the candle and the cupcake wrapper.

What do you think? Is this a technique that you have tried before?  What is your favorite color combination?

CAS Monday: thanks so much

Thank you for popping in for another

Today I am showing a card which I mass created for the First Communion thank you notes for Sophie & Genevieve. There is a coordinating envelope using the same color image from Delicate Damask.  Sentiment stamped in black.

Super simple - easily mass produced!

What do you think?

I am not getting many comments on the Clean and Simple Monday series. Do you enjoy these posts?  I enjoy your feedback - let me know what you think and if I should continue the series!

Mini Inspiration Hop & CAS Monday: hello friend

Some of the Cast and Crew for Gina K Designs welcomes you to another Mini Inspiration Blog Hop (and today is also Clean & Simple Monday!)

Make sure to leave a comment on each blog because we will choose one random comment and that stamper will win a Lots of Washi Stamp Set!

To see the full list of winners check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hops. Notice I said HOPS because some of the team will be hopping tomorrow too!

Today I am showing off two cards with my recent stamp set: Delicate Damask.

This first card is stamped on an ivory pre folded card base. I stamped the medium damask image in a rainbow of colors, slightly overlapping. The sentiment from the set is stamped in black.

The get well soon sentiment would work really well with the rainbow of images too!

This second card is bold, while remaining clean & simple. I used a purple card base with black ink. The images are from Delicate Damask  and the sentiment is from Lots of Lines. I aded a few black gems to the card at the edge of the flourish.

Please stop by the other blogs and give them some love too:

CAS Monday: Get Well Soon

Thanks for stopping by for another CAS Monday! I never stamp with orange. I am not sure why, because is is such a happy color!  I created this card with Delicate Damask on an ivory piece of card stock.  It is layered on an ivory base with a hint of orange polkadot ribbon. The damask images are offset from the card. I splattered the orange on the background using a watercolor brush.  The sentiment is also from Delicate Damask!

This could be easily replicated in any color! I may try it with blue, purple or yellow and maybe some bakers twine!

Stop by next Monday for another CAS Monday sample! Thanks for popping by!

CAS Monday: Have Faith

Welcome to the second CAS Monday!I am so glad you stopped by!

The last stamp release from Gina K. featured three stamp sets (Triple play frame, Elegant Florals 2 & Delicate Damask). I was making samples for all three and decided that I wanted to try and make a card featuring all of them together.
The large flower and leaves are from Theresa's set, the sentiment and butterflies, plus the small flower is from Melanie's set & the damask is from my set. I think the black gingham ribbon really pops the colors! I love these colors together.

Tune in next week for another C&S sample!

CAS Monday: With Sympathy

Welcome to the first Clean & Simple Monday.  Everyone hates Mondays - so I thought that it would be something we can both look forward to: a new C&S card for you to view - and an outlet for me to create and share!  so grab a cuppa and kick up your feet!

Finding the right words when someone has suffered a loss can be so difficult.  This card is perfect to send to anyone going through a trying time.

The Gina K. kraft base is 4.25 x 5.5.  I stamped the large damask image from Delicate Damask with Gina K white ink. I let it dry a few minutes before stamping the sentiment (also from Delicate Damask) on top with black ink. The sentiment could easily be anything from the set! It is a 2 minute card which is so quick to replicate - but the clean look of the white on kraft is timeless!

Stop by next Monday for another card on Clean & Simple Monday!
