Clean & Simple Birthday Card: Lots of Washi & Lots of Lines

One of my favorite things about Wonderful Washi is that I can add a hint of pattern in any color to a one layer card!  I also LOVE the big sentiments from Lots of Lines, which pair so well with the Lots of Washi patterns.  Today I used this super feminine black and pink color combo to create a one-layer birthday card perfect for any girlie girl!

The 4.25 square card base was stamped vertically with the Lots of Washi Patterns.  The best thing about Lots of Washi is the length of the stamps.  They are so long, they will fill your card without having to stress about lining things up perfectly because the stamp is too short! The black ink POPS off the pink paper and the sentiment is so elegant, yet bold!  I added a few black gems to the card to give it a bit of bling!

Thanks for peeking again at another clean & simple birthday card!

Clean & Simple Birthday Cards using Lots Of Lines

It is usually inevitable that I have to create multiple birthday cards for the kids for parties.  I try and keep things relatively simple and clean because, quite honestly, most of the time, their friends do not keep the cards! {I know - the horror}

Today I used lots of lines to create two cards - for twins - each with their own unique style.

These cards are simple Gina K. White bases, with a single layer of 4 x 5.25

Using Gina K. Color companion inks in reds and pinks, it was easy to create this card - the sentiment stamped in black

Using Gina K. Color companion inks in blues and greens, it was easy to create this card - the sentiment stamped in black

The Lots Of Lines stamp set is so versatile and with the minimum amount of paper and supplies, you can easily create a multitude of possibilities in the clean and simple style!

Stop back tomorrow for a Clean & Simple card stamped with
Lots of Washi!

Today I am featuring cards from Vertical Greetings 2 and Keep Calm (My latest set)

Theresa's set is fun to work with! I stamped the leaf bunches in white ink and embossed them with clear embossing powder.  Then I sponged turquoise sea and ocean mist inks over the paper and sprayed them with a variety of glimmer mist colors.  The strip of blue looks like the caribbean sea in the sun.  It sparkles even more with the addition of sequins and gems.

Here is my lame attempt at coloring.  I made this with gina k. black ink and the spectrom noir makers. The designer paper really popped against the christmas pine base.

This pink card was super simple to make and a hint of gems reallly makes it sparkle!

I stamped the cupcake in black and colored it in with Spectrum Noir markers. Then I used a versamark pen on the "frosting" and added some clear embossing powder to give the cupcake a shiny raised look.

This is a super simple inspirational card! Do you know anyone who just needs a pick me up? This one will surely do the trick!

The Ang & Me designer paper cut into squares makes a great focal point on this card.  My oldest, Karen, gave this to a friend who was recovering from wisdom teeth extraction (ouch!).  Clare loved it (at least that is what she tweeted).

Sometimes clean and simple gets the point across - a scrap of the Ang & Me designer paper just pops off the kraft base. I added the sentiment from Keep Calm and some black gems! Love this card! Sometimes a little note prior to a big day is the perfect way to communicate with a teenager!

This card was super fun to make - using the spectrum noir colors - I get as much variety as the local cupcake shop!  My daughters bought this cupcake for Xavier - so I used it as a prop before he scarfed it down!
This was one of my favorite inspirational sentiments! I think that sometimes this card would make people realize that you just need to give it up to prayer and let Him take care of it!

I used these sentiments in combination to make a graduation card for one of the Seniors on the swim team.  The card can easily be customized for any school color and is PERFECT for the graduate from any school, whether it be kindergarten to college!

That was a LOT to digest - thanks for looking at all my samples!
