Beth’s Keep Calm stamp set

It’s not too late to make your project or special cards because students and teachers will be back in the classroom.

WAIT!!! DID SOMEONE SAY BACK TO SCHOOL???
In our house, we have a child that considers the "s" word forbidden in the summer! She hates the early back to school commercials on tv and the radio! I'm not even telling her about this hop! Ha ha!

I created this first card on the new jelly bean card stock.  I love this color green! I stamped the apple {from Stippled Nature} in the jelly bean and then stamped the sentiment {from Keep Calm} in black! What a great card for your kid's lunch bag for the first day of school! This is a 4x4 square card.

Wouldn't this next card be cute for your child to hand to their new teacher on their first day of school? This apple is from Bounty of Blessings and the sentiment is from Keep Calm! Both were stamped in black, but the apple was colored in with spectrum noir markers.

CAS Monday: Watercolored Wish Big

Welcome to another CAS Monday!

I have decided that I really want to perfect that watercolor splotch look for my background.  Today's card used a pre-folded watercolor base. I taped off the edges and gave the paper a good soaking! I think that is the key to really creating a nice watercolored look.  I experimented with turquoise, blue and purples to achieve this look. One think you really need to do is walk away from the card. It's not a quick process.  first add a color, swirl it in the water, let the water puddle up and then add more color.  Walk away and let it dry.  Add a second color and repeat the same process.  For a deeper color, do not add as much water.  Push the colors around with your brush. Don't be afraid to let them bleed together.

The image and sentiment are from Keep Calm which has so many mix and match sentiments. I love the wish big sentiment with the cupcake from the set!  I wanted it to look simple, but with a hint of bling, so I added some stickler to the candle and the cupcake wrapper.

What do you think? Is this a technique that you have tried before?  What is your favorite color combination?

Stamp Out Cancer Challenge #2: Pretty In Pink

This card is for the Stamp Out Cancer Challenge #2: Pretty in Pink.

It is being hosted by Sean on the Gina K. Design Team.  This card was super easy to make - it is an innocent pink card base with a doily - you see, I finally got around to cleaning my office and found a pack of these suckers and they are so PRETTY and they fit perfectly on an A2 card base.  I stamped the ribbon from the Fight Like A Girl set in pink passion and the sentiment from Keep Calm in black. That is it! Easy Peasy - Lemon Squeezy!  And speaking of squeezy - don't forget to do your monthly squish - and make sure you get your mammogram every month!

Gina K Designs Stamp Out Cancer Blog Hop

rabbit, rabbit, rabbit

Welcome to a very special Gina K Designs Blog Hop! We are so happy to share this new stamp set and patterned paper pack, Fight Like A Girl designed by Gina! Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month we are kicking off the first week with this release and a full week of challenges on Stamp TV. Each challenge has a prize giveaway! And a donation to American Cancer Society for cancer research is made for every stamp set sold! So enjoy the hop and then watch for a new challenge every day in the Stamp Out Cancer Forum on Stamp TV!

Here is my first creation using the Gina K. designer paper pack along with the butterfly (stamped in white ink) on kraft paper.  Some pink gems along the middle of the butterfly and a sentiment in black complete the design

This second card uses the same layout - but I was able to use the sentiment from Keep Calm because it was perfect!

Now take a look at what the rest of the design team has in store!

Gina K. September Inspiration Blog Hop: Day One

The Cast and Crew for Gina K Designs welcomes you to another fabulous Inspiration Blog Hop! Gina, along with the Cast and Crew and Guest Designers, will inspire you with many beautiful ideas! And as you hop through their blogs, make sure to leave a comment on each of them because we will choose a few random comments and those stampers will each win a grab bag of Gina K. Designs products! To see the full list of winners check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hops.

Here are my samples:

This first card uses the half circle with line on the top and bottom, with the sentiment from Keep Calm.
I used versamark and the flower on each side of the sentiment and then added two black gems.

my next card uses the circle frame from Melanie's set, along with the sentiment and open fleur de lis from Fleur De Lis. I colored the fleur de lis with spectrum noir markers and outlined it with a sakura gel pen.

this pair of birthday cards for Sophie's friends (twins) was fun to make using Melanie's framed dotted oval! I used the cupcake and the WISH BIG sentiment from Keep Calm. I experimented with Gina K. white ink and a watercolor brush to give the "frosting" a soft look.

This was my favorite card to make. I stamped the image in black and colored it with spectrum noir markers and highlighted it with a paint brush and white ink. The sentiment is in white ink.

Finally, this card was super fun to color. I stamped the image in Gina K. black ink and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers.

June Inspiration Blog Hop: Day 2 (Vertical Greetings 2 & Keep Calm)

The Cast and Crew for Gina K Designs welcomes you to another fabulous Inspiration Blog Hop! Gina, along with the Cast and Crew and Guest Designers, will inspire you with many beautiful ideas! And as you hop through their blogs, make sure to leave a comment on each of them because we will choose a few random comments and those stampers will each win a grab bag of Gina K. Designs products! To see the full list of winners check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hops.

Today I am featuring cards from Vertical Greetings 2 and Keep Calm (My latest set)

Theresa's set is fun to work with! I stamped the leaf bunches in white ink and embossed them with clear embossing powder.  Then I sponged turquoise sea and ocean mist inks over the paper and sprayed them with a variety of glimmer mist colors.  The strip of blue looks like the caribbean sea in the sun.  It sparkles even more with the addition of sequins and gems.

Here is my lame attempt at coloring.  I made this with gina k. black ink and the spectrom noir makers. The designer paper really popped against the christmas pine base.

This pink card was super simple to make and a hint of gems reallly makes it sparkle!

I stamped the cupcake in black and colored it in with Spectrum Noir markers. Then I used a versamark pen on the "frosting" and added some clear embossing powder to give the cupcake a shiny raised look.

This is a super simple inspirational card! Do you know anyone who just needs a pick me up? This one will surely do the trick!

The Ang & Me designer paper cut into squares makes a great focal point on this card.  My oldest, Karen, gave this to a friend who was recovering from wisdom teeth extraction (ouch!).  Clare loved it (at least that is what she tweeted).

Sometimes clean and simple gets the point across - a scrap of the Ang & Me designer paper just pops off the kraft base. I added the sentiment from Keep Calm and some black gems! Love this card! Sometimes a little note prior to a big day is the perfect way to communicate with a teenager!

This card was super fun to make - using the spectrum noir colors - I get as much variety as the local cupcake shop!  My daughters bought this cupcake for Xavier - so I used it as a prop before he scarfed it down!
This was one of my favorite inspirational sentiments! I think that sometimes this card would make people realize that you just need to give it up to prayer and let Him take care of it!

I used these sentiments in combination to make a graduation card for one of the Seniors on the swim team.  The card can easily be customized for any school color and is PERFECT for the graduate from any school, whether it be kindergarten to college!

That was a LOT to digest - thanks for looking at all my samples!

June Inspiration Blog Hop: Day One (Fabulous Frames & Let's Talk)

The Cast and Crew for Gina K Designs welcomes you to another fabulous Inspiration Blog Hop! Gina, along with the Cast and Crew and Guest Designers, will inspire you with many beautiful ideas! And as you hop through their blogs, make sure to leave a comment on each of them because we will choose a few random comments and those stampers will each win a grab bag of Gina K. Designs products! To see the full list of winners check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hops.

First - my creations with Melanie's set - the butterflies with white ink are so incredible!
I also created this kraft card with green ink and filled in the wings with spectrum noir markers and a white pen.
This card combines both sets - the butterfly from Melanie's Fabulous Frames and the sentiment from Debbie's Let's Talk. A strip of the Ang & Me paper gives it some nice contrast and the butterfly is colored with a white pen.

Debbie's set was fun to play with too! This clean and simple card highlights the colors in the Ang & Me designer paper (which is awesome).
I love this card - it was so fun to make with the tomato soup, green and ocean mist colors!
This last one was made for Todd's co-worker's 50th birthday! It features the cupcake from my Keep Calm set, along with Debbie's Let's Talk and the 50 is from Lots of Dots Alphabet

First - you have to check out the other blogs - but promise you will stop by tomorrow to see all the samples I have with my set!

June Release Party Roundup

I hope everyone had fun last night at the release party at StampTV.  I had some issues getting to the party - so I am showing some of the sets (which are featured on StampTV) here today!

Apparently last night was cupcake night at the release party - so if you didn't get a chance to have a cupcake, you can drool over this one which my son had last night.  It's adorable, right? Cocoadots in Clifton Park, NY (*winner of cupcake wars).  Just looking at this makes me gain weight!

The first card which I created was with Melanie's fabulous frames.  I love that there are two sizes of butterflies to use in this set. I stamped them with Gina K. white ink and then used the sentiment with black ink.

This next card was SO simple.  I took the Ang & Me designer paper pack and cut 1.5 inch squares and layered it on the card base. The sentiment is from Keep Calm
For the sample with Debbie's Let's Talk set, I took a strip of paper from the Ang & Me designer paper pack and then layered a speech bubble on the side. Such a clean and simple card.

Yesterday, I posted more samples (one with Theresa's set and one with mine) - check them out!

Stop back Monday and Tuesday for a blog hop with some more great samples from this release!
